Muskegon County Basic Research Fees All research is conducted by volunteers of the Muskegon County Genealogical Society. Payment is to be made directly to MCGS by cash, check, money order, or PayPal via our website.

Vital Records: transcribed copy of Muskegon County marriage or death records.	2 free copies/year. $8 for any additional	$8 per copy
Newspaper Obituary: photocopy or digital	2 free copies/year. $8 for any additional	$8 per copy

All Research requests must be submitted via the online submission form (see below), or we can email the form directly to you. PLEASE provide as much detail as you can about the Person to Research (one person per form). The more we know, the less time it will take, and less cost to you! Don’t worry about missing information. After receiving the form(s) we will contact you via email or phone with the estimated cost for the service(s) requested.

OTHER TYPES OF PROJECTS:

The type of projects our Society can do are broad. Projects outside of Basic Research are approved (or denied) on a cases by case basis. Examples include:

o Historical House History (not for legal purposes) - $350

o For houses that are anticipated to be 100+ years old

o Includes search of City Directories, Newspapers, Deeds Office for historical records, and Tax Records.

o Printed and published in a 3-ring binder, with a copy of the digital PDF file

o Family Tree – range of $200 to $350

o Typed and formalized based on the research and records you have compiled

o Includes 4 or 5 generation Pedigree Chart and Family Group Sheet(s)

o Photocopies of supporting documents and records

o Arranged by generation

o May include up to 5 photographs that we will scan for you

o Printed and published in a 3-ring binder, with a copy of the digital PDF file
